About University

Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) was founded on October 15, 1960, with an initial focus on engineering disciplines. Over the decades, BJUT has evolved into a comprehensive university, now encompassing a wide array of disciplines including science, economics, management, literature, law, art, and education. The university's mission is to provide high-quality education, conduct cutting-edge research, and contribute to societal development through innovation and technological advancement.

BJUT offers a diverse range of academic programs, comprising 70 undergraduate majors, 33 first-level master's degree programs, 22 first-level doctoral degree programs, and 19 post-doctoral research stations. The university is home to 3 national key disciplines and 21 Beijing municipal key disciplines, underscoring its academic strength and research capabilities. Notably, BJUT has established several specialized colleges and institutes, such as the College of Applied Mathematical and Physical Science, College of Architecture and Urban Planning, and the Institute of Laser Engineering, which houses the National Center of Laser Technology.
