About University
Fujian University of Technology (FJUT) traces its origins to 1896 with the founding of "Cangxia Jingshe" by esteemed scholars including Chen Baochen and Lin Shu. Over the years, the institution evolved, merging the Fujian College of Architecture and Civil Engineering with the Fujian Institute of Technology in 2002 to form the current university. This rich history underscores FJUT's longstanding commitment to education and societal development.
Situated in Fuzhou, a city renowned as the gateway to the maritime Silk Road, FJUT offers a vibrant academic environment. The university provides a comprehensive range of undergraduate and graduate programs across various fields, with a notable focus on engineering disciplines. Key academic departments include Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, Information Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture and Urban Planning, and Management. This multidisciplinary approach ensures that students receive a well-rounded education, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary for their professional careers.
FJUT is home to a diverse student body of over 24,000 full-time students, supported by a dedicated faculty of approximately 697 members, including 213 professors and associate professors. The university's three campuses—Shanxi, Cangshan, and Pudong—span a total area of 40.5 hectares, with plans for expansion in the Fuzhou University District to accommodate future growth. The institution boasts 47 well-equipped laboratories, providing students and researchers with the resources needed for innovative exploration.
Research and practical application are integral to FJUT's mission. The university actively collaborates with industry partners and international institutions, fostering an environment where theoretical knowledge meets real-world application. Students are encouraged to engage in internships, co-op programs, and research projects, enhancing their academic experience and professional readiness. FJUT's commitment to excellence is further demonstrated by its completion of over 800 research projects and the development of 15 provincial science and technology innovation platforms.
While specific details about notable alumni are not readily available, FJUT's graduates have made significant contributions across various sectors, reflecting the university's dedication to producing skilled professionals who drive societal progress.
